| Whereas OBJEKTŠ International received the IDA Award for the Best Interior Design Magazine of the Year this year in Hollywood, Los Angeles, now, at the end of September, an additional award came its way: the Cersaie Journalism Award 2009, presented in Bologna, Italy. The presentation took place at a festive gala function in the Arena del Sole. The jury not only expressed its admiration for OBJEKTŠ International's reporting on the creativity of the Italian ceramic industry, but also the overall perspective of architecture, interior design and design in general, as presented in the photography and art direction. They described it as a unique magazine with an approach that is highly absorbing for architects, designers and all those involved or interested in interior design. This edition has also been compiled with that in mind. The turbulent economic times have certainly had their effect on design. The design carrousel of the nineties is defunct. Today the emphasis is on a combination of quality, simplicity, comfort and functionality. A concept that is supported by a wide variety of materials and textures. That is best evidenced in the design of kitchens and, by extension, bathrooms. Designs are more subdued and focused on user-friendliness. ...more for the Interior Design Magazine of the Year ! |
