Room Mate Bruno: where history and architecture come together

The monumental Pakhuismeesteren on the Wilhelminapier in Rotterdam was transformed into a striking hotspot with an extravagant character: Room Mate Bruno.

Room Mate - the beginning

One day the founders of Room Mate Hotel chain talked about the fact that there was no hotel in all of Madrid that would suit their needs and those of their friends. So they began to wonder where they would prefer to stay when traveling to cities like Madrid or Paris.

Therefore the philosophy of Room Mate Hotels is that a hotel should be located in the heart of the city center with an original decor and at an affordable price. That it should not be forgiven of services that you ultimately do not use, because all you really need for a stroll around the city is a good breakfast.

And so they opened their first hotel, Room Mate Mario, in the center of Madrid next to the Royal Theater.

Bruno - Rotterdam

Room Mate Bruno is located in the historic Pakhuismeesteren building, a former tea warehouse of the Dutch East India Company on the Wilhelminapier in Rotterdam. From the spacious rooms you have a beautiful view of the Maas and Kop van Zuid.

In recent years, this area has been transformed into an architectural hotspot where you can walk between the designs of, for example, Rem Koolhaas, Cruz and Ortiz, Renzo Piano, Muller, Droogleever and Fortuyn. Room Mate Bruno itself also scores highly with the nautical and astronomical design of the famous design studio Teresa Sapey + Partners.

The luxury hotel has 217 colorful rooms - from single rooms to family rooms and suites - decorated with nautical decorations, such as navigational charts and images of constellations. The colours, from bright red to lilac and soft yellow, have been carefully chosen to create warm and lively spaces.
